posted December 08, 2011 12:45 PM They came in the original DCI judge packet. It was like $12 or something and you got the deck, DCI Counterspell and DCI Incinerate. The value is like $25 on the deck now, sealed, I believe.frodotheshirehobbit

posted December 08, 2011 03:03 PM It most likely that they came from getting an upgraded ’legends’ membership from a Duelist magazine subscription in the mid 1990’s. That is where I got my MTG playing cards, and that is where most of the MTG playing cards that sell on eBay come from, as far as I know.
Their sale was between 25-29 dollars for a sealed deck, last I checked.
Edit: I guess they also gave some out to judges? I just remember the deck and a pewter life counter from the Duelist.

magiclibrarities has the info on the different decks so you can figure out which you have.
the first link is the more rare version. If you have it, I’m not sure the value.. maybe someone else can better help. If that is the one you have, I’d advise against taking offers via PM as people will tend to lowball when their offer isn’t public.frodotheshirehobbit

posted December 09, 2011 05:20 AM The Carta Mundi poker deck is much rarer than the DCI Legends (Yaquinto) poker deck. It dates back to the earliest days of Magic, and was produced in a small lot by Carta Mundi for WOTC, which gave them out to big shareholders and WOTC Employees at one of the first annual meetings.
Because of its rarity, not many collectors know about it and as a result it’s value is usually close to the more common DCI Legends(Yaquinto) deck. The last few I have seen the DCI deck at ~$25 - $40, while the Carta Mundi deck went for ~ $10 to $15 more. But this wasn’t always the case. 10 years ago, when the DCI Legnds deck was selling for ~ $15, the Carta Mundi deck was known to exceed $100.

Cartomancer Poker Deck E forte un casino streaming vf. is a completely unique, fully custom deck of cards. It was designed by Alain Benoit and printed by the United States Playing Card Company.
The inspiration behind this deck: Tarot; French cartomancy; transformation playing cards; analytical psychology; surrealism; symbolism; fingerprints; vintage prints and illustrations.
Beyond fully custom! EACH card tells a story with an original illustration made with vintage engravings and prints. The whole deck paints the landscape of our lives in a beautifully nostalgic style. The result is a thought-provoking synergy between significance and design. There is nothing like it out there.
The Cartomancer Poker Deck uses the existing structure of a standard deck of cards as a canvas for a new, instinctive divination system. ALL the cards feature universal archetypes and symbols making it a very instinctive tool for divination.
The themes for each suit are as follows:
Diamond: Sensation, perception with our senses, childhood and earth.
Spade: Thinking, becoming part of society, early adulthood and air.
Heart: Intuition, abundance and fertility, midlife and water.
Club: Feeling, knowing without reasoning, late adulthood and fire.
Attention to details:
*As a tribute to the people who have gotten their hands dirty with ink creating the engravings featured in the deck, I have made the suit symbols with fingerprints. As a result, no suit symbol is ever repeated on the same card. For instance, the 10 of Diamonds has 10 different fingerprints!
*The timeworn paper background of the front of each card is a section of a larger paper so that the background of each card is different (no annoying repeated markings anywhere). Of course, the backs are uniform for obvious reasons.
*The meaning of each card is printed in the margin of the card in both English and French as a tribute to French Cartomancie. Mtg Poker DeckThe deck comes with a limited edition little white book, a 32 page black and white booklet the size of the box, containing an introduction to the deck, ideas for divination and keyword meanings for each card.Poker Deck Size
*Originally funded by over 600 backers on Kickstarter, now available to you!
*A truly unique deck, each card is illustrated with a different collage made with multiple vintage engravings and illustrations.
*A new deck of cards for divination, it comes with a limited edition little white book.
*A ’must have’ for any card collector!
